According to our internal research, Toyota Corolla was ranked as the most reliable car by claim rate. This news comes as a sigh of relief to many drivers, since Toyota Corolla was also the second best-selling vehicle in 2012. You don’t hear the make KIA very often when it comes to the most reliable vehicles, but in this case KIA Sportage and Spectra made it to the top five list. The only manufacturer that was listed twice. This research was based on the data collected from Endurance’s database that includes all drivers who purchased Endurance car warranty.

*A Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) is often referred to as an “extended auto warranty”, but is not an auto warranty.  A VSC does, however, provide repair coverage for your vehicle after the manufacturer’s warranty expires. A VSC is a contract between you and a VSC provider or administrator that states what is a covered repair and what is not. Endurance is an administrator of VSCs and does not sell extended warranties.*

  1. I had a warranty once from my car dealer. wasn’t pleased with it. Would consider getting a warranty from you guys but the price would have to be right.

  2. Great resource center. Was wondering how much the average cost of a vehicle is for a Chevy Aveo?

  5. Cool! Didn’t even know what a Ford Ranger was until I checked this out. How reliable is the Toyota Camry compared to the Toyota Corolla?

  6. Great infographic, will definitely be sharing it with my followers. *peace and love*

  7. At first I was a little skeptical of this data, but I see that you are going by your own internal claims data. I don’t know how accurate this is for all cars on the road today, but I think it generally falls in line with what we have seen in the industry over the years. Would be interesting to see how your numbers now in 2018 stack up against the numbers you used in 2013. Five years can make a world of difference. Cheers!

  8. I have only bought Asian built vehicles over the past twenty years. I try to be as American-made as possible but the cars they make just don’t last as long and are not at the right price point. Cost and worth are two different things, and to me I think the Asian vehicles (Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, etc) are just the better in both categories. Just my humble opinion.

  9. I totally agree with this. I had a Toyota that lasted me almost 15 years. Best Car I have ever had.

  10. Very cool info! Will defintiely take it into consideration when I buy my next car. Got any info on newer models like 2015 or 2016 models?

  11. I was talking to my daughter Morgan about this last night. Very interesting to learn about, I told her as she looks for her first car to avoid the ones with expensive repairs. But isn’t that every car? 😉

  12. Didn’t consider looking for a warranty until I stumbled upon this graphic. Very interesting to see which cars are made better and last longer than others.

  13. Very interesting read! Didn’t realize certain cars broke down a lot sooner than others. Will defintiely keep this in mind when buying my next car.

  14. Thanks for providing this quick and easy graphic. I will definitely show this to my car insurance clients, I think they will find it very usefull!
