Fiat Extended Warranty Cost & Coverage Guide

Since 1899, Fiat has produced simple, stylish vehicles with a classic look and a near-unbeatable value. With a wide range of models over the years, Fiat has teamed up with Chrysler and settled on the 500 for new buyers, and its small size and responsive handling make it a favorite of drivers everywhere. If you are in the market for a unique, classically-styled vehicle, a Fiat could be an excellent option for you.

For those who have been thinking about purchasing a Fiat, it is essential to know what you can expect and what kind of support you might get for your vehicle. This includes warranty coverage, and knowing how your Fiat will be covered and how you can keep it safe will give you the peace of mind you need when you are out on the road. With a good understanding of what is included and available, you can rest easy whenever you get behind the wheel.

What’s Included in a Fiat Factory Warranty?

When you purchase a new car, it will come with a factory warranty (aka a manufacturer’s warranty) provided by the automaker. This warranty protects you from any repairs that might need to be made in the first years of your car ownership. This ensures that you won’t be held financially responsible for any issues at the factory or design problems with your new vehicle. Should anything go wrong with your new car through no fault of your own, you can take it to a dealership and have them repair it.

New Fiats come with various factory warranties for different aspects of your new car. The most comprehensive warranty is their bumper-to-bumper coverage, which covers nearly every component of the vehicle, including the powertrain. This warranty lasts for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. During that time, you can take the car to a Fiat or another Stellantis-branded dealer near you to get it repaired.

Some of the other coverage that Fiat offers with their new cars include:

  • Corrosion Perforation: This warranty covers the body sheet panels and any parts or labor that may be needed if they get prematurely perforated by rust from the inside of the car outward. This coverage lasts for three years and has no limit on mileage, while the outer panels are covered for five years and have no limit on the mileage.
  • Federal Emissions: Fiat includes coverage for the emissions equipment on your car, which includes emission controls, sensors and the catalytic converter. This coverage ensures that your vehicle will always comply with federal emissions standards and is good for four years or 50,000 miles, while some components are covered for eight years or 80,000 miles.
  • Roadside Assistance: If something goes wrong with your Fiat, the roadside assistance coverage will help you get it towed to the nearest Fiat dealer or other Stellantis-branded dealership. As long as the problem’s source is a part covered by the factory warranty, you can use this service for four years with no limit on the miles.
  • Parts & Accessories: Fiat will cover the cost of various parts and accessories while the car is under the bumper-to-bumper warranty. This includes wiper blades, glass, clutch wheels, and more.

Fiat owners also get a little bonus with their new vehicle, as Fiat provides 12 months or 12,000 miles of coverage on various maintenance items that most automakers and other warranty providers often exclude, including various parts of the vehicle’s brakes, as well as bulbs, wiper blades and more.

As Fiat’s factory coverages don’t last forever, you can ensure you’ll have help with unexpected repair bills and breakdowns with an extended warranty. But whether you get coverage from Fiat or another provider will depend on what each offers and your needs.

Does Fiat Offer Extended Warranty Coverage?

Like all makes and models under the Stellantis brand (Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram), if you want to extend your factory warranty for your Fiat, you can do so with Mopar

These Mopar Vehicle Protection Plans can be purchased anytime while your Fiat is still under the original factory warranty. Coverage can also be bought for up to eight years or 150,000 miles, depending on your plan. This means you can get coverage for up to four years after the original four-year or 50,000-mile factory warranty and get your car repaired at a Fiat dealership

The Mopar Vehicle Protection Plans come in two different varieties. These include:

  • Mopar Added Care Plus Protection Plan: This plan covers over 850 components on your Fiat. This includes your vehicle’s major components, including the engine, driveline, cooling and fuel systems, transmission, steering, and front and rear suspension.
  • Mopar Maximum Care Protection Plan: If you want to extend your bumper-to-bumper coverage, the Mopar Maximum Care Protection Plan could be your best bet. This includes over 5,000 components, including the ones covered with the Mopar Added Care Plus, as well as maintenance services, glass, and accessories. They also note that Maximum Care plans may come with a $200, $100 or $0 deductible.
  • Guaranteed Automotive Protection (GAP): GAP coverage is in place to help you in case your vehicle is deemed a total loss or is stolen by helping cover the difference between what your insurance pays and what is left on your loan or lease amount.

Mopar also notes that they offer some benefits for both the Added Care Plus and Maximum Care plans, including:

  • Roadside assistance and towing
  • $1,000 in trip interruption protection
  • Key fob repairs/replacements
  • Car rental or taxi reimbursement
  • Transferability to a new owner

It’s important to note that while both Mopar plans offer the above benefits, Maximum Care plan holders will only have them for the first 100,000 miles of coverage. After that, you are no longer eligible.

Can Pre-Owned Fiats Get Coverage?

Pre-owned and used cars are often a great option for a budget-friendly vehicle, but many will be long past any limits their original coverage limits. However, Fiat and Mopar offer the same kind of coverage (and benefits) as the warranty options for new vehicles, but only for certified pre-owned Fiats, with some limitations. Mainly, Mopar notes that only certified pre-owned Fiats (meaning they have passed an inspection) are within 10 years of the current model year. If you try and get coverage for a 2010 Fiat in 2022, you’d be out of luck.

Luckily, while not all used Fiat vehicles can get extended warranty coverage from Fiat and Mopar, other options are available from third-party warranty providers to help you get help with covered repairs once your factory warranty expires.

Where Can I Get Extended Auto Warranty Coverage for My Fiat?

While you can get extended coverage for your Fiat from Mopar, you must have an eligible vehicle. If yours falls outside that eligibility, or if you’re interested in finding a more comprehensive plan, aftermarket plans from a third-party provider like Endurance can be a much better choice.

How Endurance Can Protect Your Fiat

Also known as vehicle service contracts when coming from anyone other than your original warranty provider, Endurance auto protection plans can give you customized coverage for your specific needs, regardless if you own a Fiat or almost any other make/model of vehicle.

For example, Endurance offers a variety of plans for all kinds of vehicles and budgets, starting at just $79 per month. These range from the Secure plan’s basic powertrain coverage to the Supreme plan, which includes comprehensive coverage for nearly every component of your Fiat and just a small list of exclusions. Endurance also offers plans for older cars and cars with unlimited miles, as well as other vehicles like those used for rideshare and delivery services, salvage and rebuilt title vehicles and more, which are often excluded in other extended warranty plans from automakers and third-party car warranty companies

Along with getting help covering expensive and unexpected car repairs, Endurance plans also come with various perks and savings, including 24/7 roadside assistance, trip interruption coverage and rental car reimbursement. You’ll even have easy access to the exclusive Endurance Mobile app and have Endurance’s award-winning customer service team available right at your fingertips. Or, if you ever want to sell your car with your Endurance coverage still active, you can help upsell it, as almost all Endurance plans are transferable to new owners.

Plus, for a small activation fee, you can enjoy an entire year’s worth of FREE Endurance Elite Benefits, including key fob replacements, tire repair or replacement, collision coverage, and up to $1,000 in total loss protection. Plus, unlike Fiat plans or plans from most automakers, you can take your Fiat to any certified repair shop, so you aren’t limited to the dealership for service.

Fiat Warranty FAQs

Before you decide which Fiat extended warranty is best for you, it is important to understand everything you can about them. Knowing the answers to some frequently asked questions about Fiat warranties can help give you a better idea of what they offer and which ones will be better for you and your vehicle.

What Does an Endurance Extended Warranty for Fiat Cover?

Endurance has a wide range of coverage plans, all of which will be better or worse for your particular Fiat. One plan may be better for you than another, depending on the mileage on the odometer and your driving habits. Your needs and the level of coverage that will suit those needs will be entirely up to you, and Endurance has coverage options for nearly every driver and vehicle. And unlike Fiat, Endurance customers with Fiat vehicles past the 10-year cut-off for their certified pre-owned vehicle coverage from Mopar can get the peace of mind they’re looking for as Endurance options can cover vehicles up to 20 years old, regardless of mileage.

Do Fiat Warranties Cover Used Vehicles?

A Certified pre-owned Fiat is eligible for the same kind of coverage plans available from Mopar as new Fiats, but with some drawbacks. Mainly, coverage is only available for Fiats within 10 years of age as the current model year. So a 2011 Fiat won’t be able to get coverage in 2022 and beyond.

How Much Does an Extended Warranty for Fiat Vehicles Cost?
